Reboot in Windows 2008 takes 30 minutes

We have a server 2008 standard x64 with exchange.
Reboot takes a very long time.
Shutting down the exchange helps a little when going down but startup takes 30 minutes.
Windows performance analyser shows the first 20 minutes no activity exept for classpnp.sys and partmgr.sys.
Every 2 minutes there is a short activity of the providerID DiskIo.

After 20 minutes the sys begins to start al of his services and operates normal then.

    Who recognizes such a behavior?

May be a virus, but according to what you have mentioned, classpnp uses the 20 mins, it searches for the plug n play device. Do you have any extra hardware which needs drivers which are not installed? Check if all the drivers are updated. I don't know excatly may be causing it but could be a driver issue... Hope this helps...

On a Windows 2008 perform a clean boot and check if the issue still exists

    • Click Start->Run...->type msconfig and press Enter
    • Click Services tab and select Hide All Microsoft Services and Disable All third party Services.
    • Click Startup tab and Disable All startup items
    • Click OK and choose Restart
    • After reboot, shutdown system to see if this issue disappear.
