IGFXEXT module has stopped working and closed error on Windows Vista

Hi friends,

Due to virus issue i have recently formatted my computer and install Windows Vista SP2, but from few days whenever i try to start my computer at the beginning i am getting an message as IGFXEXT MODULE HAS STOPPED WORKING AND CLOSED. First i thought that there would be some issue with the drivers, in that case i try to reinstall all the drivers in safe mode. But it's of no use. Does anyone getting such kind of message.

In such kind of case i would suggest you to download the latest version of your drivers after downloading it if you get any error then just right click on the .exe and set compatibility to vista and run now you should not get any message, if you get same message then reply over here.

In that case i would suggest you to goto Programs & Features and uninstall the Intel Graphics drivers and at the same time click on start goto run option and type msconfig once it it open find out the following entries and make it disable.
  • [IgfxTray] C:\Windows\system32\igfxtray.exe
  • [HotKeysCmds] C:\Windows\system32\hkcmd.exe
  • [Persistence] C:\Windows\system32\igfxpers.exe

Finally reboot your system for changes to get effected.
