Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard not 64bit OS?

Hey guys, i just came across some interesting topics about Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. But no where its mentioned about its OS architecture. I read somewhere that it is not 64-bit OS. Is it true? Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard not 64bit OS? Well whats the matter with apple, why is it not developing 64bit OS? 32bit has its limits which has to be crossed, It time now... What do you guys think? Yeah 32-bit Operating Systems have their own limitations, but even 64-bit OSes have their limitation. But the matter of fact is 64-bit OS's limitations ar too broad and one can be satisfied within the limitation... Well you can read this : 32-bit Operating System V/S 64-bit Operating System I'm not sure what the new Mac is made of... but i think its 64bit...

Well the new OS from Apple is Snow Leopard and is announced to be released on Friday 28th August 09. I think it is a 64bit OS. It has some feature which shows 64bit application that are running. I read this somewhere, but not too sure. Since, in today's time, all the OSes are coming in 64bit flavours, this might also be a 64bit OS.

The Operating System Snow Leopard from apple's Mac OS X range do support 64bit application. But as far as i have read about it, the kernel is not a 64bit one. It has a 64bit mode support. Now this is what i have read. Well if the kernel is not 64bit, how will the applications will run in 64bit mode? I still don't understand the logic behind this. Well lets hope for the best... As per now we can only wait and watch...

Re: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard not 64bit OS?

I have heard that Mac's new OS Snow Leopard is completely 64bit OS, which means 32bit application won't be supported... How is that possible? I mean if the kernel is 32bit then how will 64bit applications run on it? Secondly Whats the use of making system this much complicated? If the kernel is 32bit and 64bit application needs to run, I think the speed will drop to half and memory usage will become double...

The new Mac OS from Apple that we are talking here is pure 64bit OS with support for 32bit Applications. Pure 64bit OS indicates the kernel is 64bit ans there is support preserved for 32bits applications too... So please people don't spread rumors, if you think you have read something about it, post it with proof... Have fun... Nice topic by the way...
