How can i change the usb mouse poll rating in windows 7? it was quite possible in windows xp and a vista but i can't find the way to change mouse polling rate to 500Mhz.

Have you tried by replacing USBPort.sys ? it should do it for you! Try the below commands which make it easier to take control of the file.

takeown /f "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\usbport.sys"
cacls "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\usbport.sys" /G username:F

Download Hidusbf from google search, i can't remember the link to download it. download that and try, After downloading extract it (it is a modded driver for Windows 7) then hidusb64 overwriting files there. Install hidsubf and restart pc. check with mouserate.exe and it only increases mouse polling rate (not other usb devices)

Windows sets the default USB polling rate to 125Hz, which is the equivalent of 8ms of lag. Some gamers like to overclock the default polling rate to make their mice even more responsive. The lags associated with the various speeds are:

• 125 Hz = 8ms
• 250 Hz = 4ms
• 500 Hz = 2ms
• 1000 Hz = 1ms

IF you using windows xp then you can use the USB Mouserate Switcher it allow you to enforce a mouse polling rate of 250 Hz (4 ms), 500 Hz (2 ms) or 1000 Hz (1 ms) and let you restore Windows' original "usbport.sys" (8 ms) if needed.
