Exclamation Help on Blue Screen stop error message on Vista Ultimate

    Hi,

Just yesterday, my computer got the blue screen of death (I was away when it first hit). I can get into Safe Boot, but, without fail, I get the BSOD when I load normally.

I hadn't adjusted anything recently, so I can't think of any new drivers or programs causing it (that I know of).

    The stop error message:

    STOP 0x0000007e
    0xFFFFFFFFC0000005
    0xFFFFF80002226B81
    0xFFFFFA600264E798
    0xFFFFFA600264E170

Does anybody know what the problem is or how to fix it?

    Thanks!!

The problem may occur when certain drivers, such as a chipset driver, are installed on the computer before you enable the BitLocker Drive Encryption feature.

    Service pack information
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows Vista.

    Hotfix information
To resolve this issue, install the hotfix that is described in KB 929637.

Re: Help on Blue Screen stop error message on Vista Ultimate

This issue might occur if a system thread generates an exception that the error handler does not catch. If the issue is associated with the Win32k.sys file, it might be caused by a third-party remote control program.
