What is FMP4 Codec

Hi,

I recently bought my friends External hard disk to take his movies collection. after copying those movies, i have found that many of them are in mkv format with FMP4 codec. I want to know what is FMP4. and how to read this kind of files on a computer. Which player can be sued to play mkv file with FMP4 codec.

You must download the latest version of VLC player. I believe the latest VLC Media Player should support FMP4 FourCC. Or you can use FourCC changer to convert your videos in to Xvid or DX50 format and then play it with vlc player.
