To use Quick Look in Leopard, select a file in the Finder. Then press the Space Bar > control click and choose the Quick Look item from the contextual menu that appears > click the Quick look button on the Finder Toolbar > Quick Look works with nearly every file on your system> choose the Quick Look item from the File menu.
If the Quick Look icon isn’t a part of your toolbar in leopards right click on the toolbar background and select Customize Toolbar. Drag the Quick Look icon to your toolbar and click Done. Quick look is not restricted just to the Finder.
You can use Quick Look to your advantage when you’re searching for files to restore in Time Machine. Quick Look also works in the Mail application in Mac OS X. Quick Look works with nearly every file on your system, including images, text files, PDF documents, movies, Keynote presentations, Mail attachments, and Microsoft Word and Excel files.
