YV12 QuickTime Codec

Hi,

I have converted a Some .avi movie Which i converted into Super video cd format. But when i try to play video using windows media player. It doesnt play video, It tries to connect to the codec server. Then I get message and then says "error downloading codec" and then crashes. please help me

The YV12 QuickTime Codec consists of an image decompressor component, an image compressor component, a movie importer component, and a movie exporter component. The YV12 QuickTime Codec requires QuickTime 7.0 or later, and is available for Windows XP/Vista or later. However if you dont want to install this codec then you can Try using media player classic which has built in mpeg2 decoding or install an mpeg2 decoder.

Hi, I am using Mac and i am also facing a similar problem , it says something about a yv12 codec. How i can overcome this problem, Please give me YV12 QuickTime Codec so that i can play Super video cd on my Mac.

YV12 is a planar Y'CbCr 4:2:0 image format, and is often used as an intermediate format by reference codecs such as the ISO/IEC MPEG-4 video decoder reference code. It's not a very good choice for end users, because it doesn't really compress video that much, and it stores pixel data in a manner that's not particularly convenient for playback.
