Oops! Mate thats not gonna work, Windows used RDP protocol for remote connection but to connect through ubuntu or any other linux, you need a protocol that is supported by Linux, so you need to install VNCServer on Windows XP machine to get this connection going. For more help see this topic : How to allow Remote Control to desktop in Ubuntu Hope this helps you. All the best!!
