    Where to download debian 3.1 iso

    I'm a linux newbie and i want to learn linux so i approached a friend of mine who is a computer techie kind of and he suggested me to take help from here, I'm a member since long. So according to my configuration my friend asked to to install debain 3.1. I know i will need to download iso file which i must burn to a disc and install th operating system from there, so till i do that i need the iso? So from where to download debian 3.1 iso? Please help Guys! Thanks in advance...

    Well i really appreciate you coming and posting to this site, but i guess you need to install the latest version of debain if you want to stay up to date and want to know the current and latest on goings on linux. So always go for the latest versions. As a beginner i would recommend you to install Ubuntu but you can install Debain. Go to the Debain's official website where you can download all the latest as well as the previous versions of the operating System.     Well, I agree With Rudra.J, as a beginner you should start with Ubuntu as its quite easy to install and use, while your on ubuntu, try to learn commands and operate linux from commands, once you think you know much you can choose any linux version that you find fascinating. But recommended distribution for first timer is Ubuntu. For help regarding linux commands visit these topics :

    Debain is a linux flavor and the latest version is Debain 5.0.
    Downloads :

    Download - 64Bit CD version

    Download - 64Bit DVD version

    Download
    - 32Bit CD version

    Download - 32Bit DVD version
