Installation of vmware tools in backtrack 3

I finished downloading and backtrack v3 on my dekstop. It seems that I cannot install vmware tools on backtrack v3. I downloaded the vmware version of backtrack but i don't know what is wrong. I would appreciate if anyone could help me... Please help... Can anyone guide me in the correct direction regarding the Installation of vmware tools in backtrack 3? and yeah, i'm a noob

As you mentioned, you are not able to install vmware tools, so that means vmware workstation is installed successfully. Instead of installing vmware tools, do get some other options like to update the installations? If you get that option, that means vmware tools is already installed, try connection to the internet and select the other option of upgrade. See if it gets upgraded. Do post back what happens...

Ok guys, thanks for replying. I will try that stuff as i get my hands on my computer. Well but are you guys sure that your workaround is going to work? I am not sure but i too hope it works... Anyways i will try it out soon and will post back what happens so that you guys can correct me if somewhere i go wrong again... Thanks a ton guys...
