    open zip folder in centos

    I have installed CentOS as my first linux operating system and i'm stuck... I cannot open any common files on this Operating System other then images. I cannot open mp3 files, avi video files and lot more... The most importantly zip files. I need to open these files as all my work files and attachments from office are in zip files, how do i open zip folder in centos? Please help guys...

    Use rar and unrar command, from terminal. See the following example :
    Code:
    unrar x file.rar
    This will unrar the files from rar file to the same location. Hope this helps...

    Well i want to open zip files and not rar files. Also if i can get a way to do it graphically would be great... Thanks! Is there a way to use winzip on linux? Is there a linux version of winzip? or anyother tool that is available for linux to open zip files? Also i need some nice video player and audio player... If anyone could help me with it... Please help...

    Install Wine and install Winrar [of windows]. Winrar can open a variety of files including zip, rar and iso files. See this link : Wine Installation on Ubuntu 8.10. For audio player you can have install amarok and install the plugins that it needs, or xine will also work, if you want winamp like audio player you can use xmms. For video player use vlc player, also comes for linux operating systems...
