registry configuration error

Hello, I can not make a backup on my laptop acer aspire 9920, every attempt has an error message "damaged configuration registry (0x800703F1) appears, and also sometimes i get this messages that Windows has detected an error registry / configuration windows launch-mode MS-DOS and type CSANREG only , what do I do to repair this problem , thank you

Hello, if your registry is damaged, you have to do a repair of Windows ... thers is plenty of tutorial in this forum, you need the Windows CD (Same version ) you have to boot the computer from it and press the R key then windows will repair the xp for you

You Can try this at the command prompt C:> type scanreg/restore to see if it works ... most probably it should solve your problem also Try restoring the registry. Otherwise, go to Safe Mode, open the "System Configuration Editor" and uncheck the programs in the Startup tab, Autoexec.bat and Config.sys.

Boot from the Windows 98 CD-ROM and start an extraction win.cnf file. We 've got to extract it to C: \ windows. Once the extraction is complete, rename the win.com file in win.cnf.
