WINDOWS VISTA 64Bit Start Button

I have a windows vista 64 bit computer, I was deleting the kiwees side bar from my Live Messenger using the "msconfig" and dianostic startup box etc. This process worked for deleting the kiwee side bar, however, I ended up with my start button and lower task bar changed into the XP version and the lower task bar changed color etc.

Is there anyway to get my windows vista start button back without going back to the factory settings??

You can try to logon your account and "right-click and select>View>Show Desktop Icons" on your Destkop, if this doesn't help then try system restore but make backup of the registry keys firsts.

This might work Restart your computer , while it is booting press the Ctrl key. Click “Safe Mode” and press Enter.After that restart your computer again and see if that bring your windows vista start button back

Try this:

• Press Ctrl+Alt+Del
• Go to Processes tab
• Select explorer.exe process
• Click End Process
• Then click Yes
• Restart computer
