Clean partition of hard drive

Hello Good Morning all,

My computer is installed with Windows XP and Fedora 10.Few days ago my windows started to give me an error message hal.dll is missing and warn me to re-install the file.I tried what ever i know to chuck out the message but to no avail.I have 4 partitions in my computer.Now i wish to make it as single partition.Does any one offer some knowledge regarding the same..

If you need to delete all partitions, you will lose your Media Direct functions. All you have to do is delete all the partitions which will be unpartition space, and then create your XP partition and any spares that you wish.Alternatively, you could use FDISK to delete the partitions. Just go play the simulator to gain confidence.

Linux exist on the disk you firstly need to have use the utility 'fdisk'.This utility is found on win98 floppy boot disks.make the bios to boot off the floppy.At the command prompt type fdisk and hit enter,itwill format in fat 32.After the disk format procedure you should be able to boot off your XP CD and follow the prompts for an NTFS format and a clean install.

what is wrong?All you have to do isBoot from the XP install CD. When it asks where to install XP there are options to delete/create partitions.Figure out the bottom of the screen for these prompts. remove all partitions, then create one big partition and continue the install.
