An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\D during a paging operation.

I am using Windows XP SP 2 from few days i am getting the following error message as \Device\Harddisk4\D during a paging operation. For more information i am having two hard disk which are located on Nvidia PATA interface on my Asus motherboard. Is there something wrong with the nvidia pata controller?

I was also getting same kind of error message in that case i would suggest you to click on Start menu and then goto control Panel over there goto Add/Remove programs area of your computer and uninstall the Nvidia IDE driver and again try to install it again i hope this should work for you.

I am also getting same error message with my Asus mother board when i called them up they told me to download the latest intel chipset driver for the G965 (8.3.1.1009) and also get the newest JMicron drivers (1.17.31.00). After installing those two; it works great with large file transfers. You also try to download the latest version from your manufacturer, hope this would work for you.

Thanks for replying me i try to remove the nvidia ide drivers but they are not so easy. I tried uninstalling them but they were just reinstalled upon reboot. after searching on web i have found that i have to upgrade the driver to use the MS drivers. That worked so now I use the MS ide drivers. I hope that will give me less Event Viewer notifications
