Screen Saver has stopped working

Hello all,
I reloaded Windows Vista Ultimate yesterday on my computer. I replaced the hard drive for a bigger one. All the componenets on the computer are the same except for 5the hard drive.

No matter which screen saver i use it says
screen saver has stopped working properly
then it closes.
Also my dreamscene feature does not work
says
Windows dreame scene cannot start
can only run when aero is selected?

The Windows DreamScene eats up a high major resource. So I will list you some ways to download it back again and then run it. About your hard drive issue if do not have any data in it then right click on that and format it. To download and install the Widows DreamScene then open Windows Update from Start > All Programs then click on extras. You will see Windows DreamScene here if not the run Windows Updates. If you see then click on the check box and then install it. Restart your system.

Remove any from the folder you are using for the Photos Screen Saver.video files Check if you have the proper video codecs installed. Dreamscene contents are usually mpeg-II.

Can you put the classic mode instead of Random or any other mode.Have you tried to point it to a directory with out video.It sounds like a issue with the file iac25_32.ax. This is in the Windows>System 32 directory and has something to do with Indeo.

I was able to get the DremeScenes working again. Thank you all

For the Screen Savers No matter which screen saver I use IE: Buubles, windows Logo. Pictures, Pipes. All of them get the

(name of Screen Saver) Has stopped working Error when ever they run. Even when i test the screen saver. No matter what.

The default location of your screen saver in C:\Windows. In this folder if view by details you can see .scr file. If you cannot see the file they either they are corrupted or deleted. Then Go to Start > Control Panel > Automatic update. Run the update and check for the latest Windows Update. If will fix the bug in your operating system.
