    How to view linux startup log

    I am new here and so to linux. I want to know how to view linux startup log? Where is the log file situated? I Hope i am posting in the right section do guide me guys... Thanks in advance...

    The boot log will be located at this location : /var/log/ and the file name will be : boot.log

    If you are looking for the file which has startup messages and stuff, you will need this file : /var/log/messages. Hope this helps...
