    What is c:\windows\csc folder

    Good afternoon people, Right now my hard disk is full of space, no empty space to install anything or to save more data. Even the C:\ drive is full. So i decided to delete all unnecessary files and folders. As i have mentioned in the title, i want to know about the c:\windows\csc folder, what it does use for? its talking near about 10gb of space, if its unuseful , can i delete it? Please tell me whether it is useful folder or not?

    No you shouldn't delete the c:\windows\csc folder. CSC means client-side caching , it another means of offline file sharing. This folder present means are in network environment where other systems are caching files on your system. You can disable it, but i don't know the way to do.

    First do the following:

    • Open Windows Explorer
    • Tools -> Folder Options
    • "Offline Files" tab
    • Uncheck "Enable Offline Files" and reboot.

    Delete everything inside the C:\WINDOWS\CSC folder but don't delete the folder itself. You shoud be able to delete all of the files. I believe there is also an option in there to limit the amount of space the cache should be able to use as well.

    Refer to following thread :

    Yes we can limit the size, The default cache size is set to 10 percent of available drive space. You can modify this setting in the Offline Files tab in Folder Options
