BIOS Virtualization options has no effect

Hiya everyone,

Now I installed Windows 7 on my computer and I would like to use the "Virtual Windows XP" feature.My issue is with my main board.It needs to turn on Virtualization options in the bios to runs.I double check in the BIOS menu (CPU Advanced), all of them are enabled.On CPU (C2D E6600) supports virtualization technologies, but the features is locked.Can any one offer some help here

Hey, before you going to do let me ask you one thing Does your CPU model support virtualization?.On my Y510, the Core2Duo T5550 1.83GHz does not support virtualization technology mode.

Hello friend try to do this Do >>Clear CMOS Guide<< {remove power cord from the PSU 1st} Then enter in BIOS and "Load BIOS Optimized Default", [then verify that VT is Enabled, if not Enable it] then "SAVE AND EXIT" and re-test. What's current BIOS version as well?

I still don't target what is with this. I checked in the Power Management section of the BIOS and found nothing on Virtualization. I do want to use the virtualization from VMware, or Windows Virtual PC, since I have already made a decision to continue using 64-bit versions of Windows and will resort to the virtualization for any program that doesn't behave well there.
