There are chances that your system has infected with some virus or threat.
I would suggest you to scan your system with an updated antivirus & spyware software. This is may be due to some changes in settings.

The default locations of saving the documents and downloaded files is My Documents. So when you press Windows Explorer key shortcut from the Keyboard or when you press [Win]+E keys, Windows Explorer opens which lands you to My Documents.

When you open My Computer or open any folder, the user interface showing you the window and the files and all the GUI is known as Windows Explorer. When you open any folder, you are already into Windows Explorer.

    idea Re: Vista Windows Explorer

Perhaps I'm not explaining or describing my problem properly. I want to SEE/EXPLORE the various components that are in a program file!

Try this. Launch Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del. Then you can see a Task Manager windows. In the click on File and then New Task. In the box type explorer.exe and click on OK. When you click on OK and Windows Explorer window will come up. But if the Task Manager is Disable and not coming up then try to run a system restore.

    Windows Vista Windows Explorer

It seems that your computer might be infected by virus because of which you are facing this issue in that case i would recommend you install the latest version of anti virus and spyware and hope this would solve your problem.
