    Optimizing BIOS settings

    Hello

Friends, I flashed the BIOS but now I need to optimize my BIOS settings before I reformat my computer.Everything else is onboard on the X38-DQ6 motherboard. I've done this once before but I wasn't quite sure that I completely optimized the BIOS. So, is there a good place for me to go that will help me optimize my BIOS? So I'll list my computer configuration

    GA-X38-DQ6
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
    Sapphire ATI Radeon HD3870
    Sapphire ATI Radeon HD3870
    OCZ Reaper HPC DDR2-1066 PC2-8500 2GB memory stick (5-5-5-18) 2.1-2.2V
    OCZ Reaper HPC DDR2-1066 PC2-8500 2GB memory stick (5-5-5-18) 2.1-2.2V
    TruePower Quattro 850w PSU
Western Digital RAPTOR 150GB 10,000 RPM
    Plextor PX-800A CD-RW/DVD drive

    thanks goes to any help..!!

    re: Optimizing BIOS settings

First find the over voltage setting for the memory before you save and reboot. My board just would not come back without resetting the CMOS with the jumper since I forgot to increase the memory voltage from the default 1.9 to 2.Your memory need between 2 and 2.1 so pick something and see what happens.Normally i would tell the ratio CPU/Memory to 5:4 which soared my memory to 854MHz instead of the standard 667; memory is rated to 800 so I'm overclocking a bit, but it seems to be working without issues so far.

I would suggest this settings for your computer with no overclock at 2.4GHz,Robust Graphics Booster should set to Auto,CPU Clock Ratio can be 9.CPU Host Clock Control should be Enabled with CPU Host Frequency (MHz) = 2.4Ghz,PCI Express Frequency 100 Mhz,C.I.A. 2 Disabled,System Memory Multiplier SPD 4.00 = 1064 Ram Freq,DRAM Timing Selectable SPD Manual

    re: Optimizing BIOS settings

Crass thing...I bought my motherboard combo from Monarch Computers and assumed that they configured the memory properly for dual channel. Wrong! I removed the second stick in Dimm 3 and put it in Dimm 2 where it belongs and the problem is gone. No more bullshit "Memory not optimized" message on boot.Just wanted to share...so that you guys can avoid this blunder
