Re: Administrative privileges on Windows XP

To get administrative privileges on Windows XP follow this step : Right-click on my computer icon on desktop > Click on Manage > Expand Local Users and Groups > Click on Groups > Double click on Administrators > Click on Add > Here you can enter account name on computer that you want to assign administrative privileges. If you do not have administrator status, you will not have access to all files on that computer.

Re: Administrative privileges on Windows XP

To install software on a Windows computer, you must have administrative rights over that computer. You can access administrative rights on windows xp from Control Panel >Double-click the User Accounts icon and then Click the user account you wish to grant administrative rights to > Click "Change the account type" Select Computer administrator and then the Change Account Type button. In Windows XP Home, the Administrator (original user) account cannot login in 'normal' mode. It can only login in Safe Mode.

Re: Administrative privileges on Windows XP

You can check windows xp administrative rights from start menu. Right click on start menu check if the options "Open All Users" and "Explore All Users" are included in the list of Windows XP functions (window will appear when you click on "Open All Users" and "Explore All Users"). If the option is visible then your account is enabled with administrative rights. So, when you're trying to install certain programs, your computer requires the Administrator rights to be intact.
