Windows XP Professional is missing sharing tab

I am using Windows XP Professional on my Dell computer. I want to share a folder containing music between my network computers but when I tried to do so the problem that I find was that I was missing the sharing tab. How is this possible? I mean how can anyone miss out the whole feature? Can you help me how to fix Windows XP Professional to get the missing sharing tab back?

May be this feature is disabled in the settings. You can restore this feature by opening My Computer, Tools and select Folder Options. Now click on the View tab and under the Advanced Settings section, look for "Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended)". Uncheck it. Save the changes by clicking on Apply button and then OK button.

Make sure that File and Printer Sharing is not blocked by Windows Firewall:

1. Click Start, click Run, type firewall.cpl, and then click OK.
2. On the General tab, make sure that the Don't allow exceptions check box is not selected.
3. Click the Exceptions tab.
4. On the Exceptions tab, make sure that the File and Printer Sharing check box is selected, and then click OK.
