    Apache processes wont die

    I have a problem with my linux box. I have apache server running. When i exit apache server with shutdown.sh command script, the processes wont die and the memory that it has captured is not released. Is this a bug? Or something is wrong with my computer only... Help!!

    I had a similar problem with apache on my old linux box. I then got a new computer and installed new updated version of red hat and apache and i got my problem solved. I didn't knew what was causing this problem and i didn't care to find as i got it solved...

    This was a bug in the older version of apache. Update your Operating System and your apache. Probably your problem might get solved... Try it out and post back if the issue still persists...
