Repair Invalid Partition Table on Windows Server 2003

I have a problem with my Windows Server 2003 computer. I am unable to boot because of this error message: "Invalid partition table". I tried Windows CD to repair the installation but the problem does not vanishes. Can anyone help me how can I repair Invalid Partition Table on Windows Server 2003?

Ideally once a partition is lost the chance to recover it is almost 0%. If possible then try the FDisk command in Dos to format your hard drive. If this doesn't solve the problem then you have to use some different hard drive and install Windows 2003 on it. You can go for some third party software to format the drive but it is better to let Windows to handle this situation.

Getting "Invalid Partition Table" error message indicates Master boot record got corruptted due to hard disk errors or virus infection. Use Windows XP Recovery Console to fix Invalid Partition Table by fixmbr. Fixmbr repairs the master boot record of the boot disk.

Syntax:

fixmbr [device_name]

where,
device_name: The device (drive) on which you want to write a new master boot record.
