libdvdnav: unable to find map file

I use xine to play my dvds. I recently cleaned installed Slackware and KDE and this is when the problem started. I couldn'e play any dvd. When i try to play dvd on zine from console, it would load and the first logo chapter plays. After it is finished, xine just freezes. I cannot play any dvd on my computer. Can anyone help me with this? When i see in the console i find errors like : unable to find map file. And some more errors are displayed which has libdvdnav. Do i need to install any package? Please help!

May be it is missing some codecs or some common packages. Just to make sure, run xine-check program. May be that would help you identify the actual problem with xine. Also install all the available codecs that you find for xine. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the quick reply solomon. I tried the xine-check program but it did not report any problem. Also all the codecs are installed correctly. I updated xine but it says no updates for selected package... Please help guys... I cannot play any dvd...

I had a similar problem sometime ago on my old box. Download and install libdvdcss and this shoud solve the problem... I wonder how xine-check did not find the problem...
