Re: Installing windows in safe mode

When you install software if the plant is not good or because of other reasons sometimes Windows refuses to start after a reboot. Windows can be run in safe mode in such circumstances, but the installer will not work. When yo restart in Safe Mode, you must create a registry entry for Windows Installer to install work.

Note: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Keep a backup copy of the registry before editing.

To create a registry entry, open the command prompt (Start-> Cmd). Type the following command in the window-REG ADD HKLM \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ SafeBoot \ Minimal \ MSIServer / VE / TREG_SZ / F / D%% Service

Re: Installing windows in safe mode

Windows offers several Safe Boot options which charge a minimum set of drivers. They allow you to boot into Windows in order to modify the registry or load or remove drivers.

    • To use a Safe Boot options, proceed as follows:
    • Restart your computer, and when the Boot menu appears, press F8.
    • When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select an option, then press ENTER.
    • When the Boot menu appears again, with the words "Safe Mode" displayed in red at the bottom of the window, select the installation that you want to start, then press ENTER.

Please do not select a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.

      • Safe Mode (Safeboot_Option = Minimal): minimum set of device drivers and services to start Windows.
      • Safe mode with networking support (Safeboot_Option = Network): minimum set of device drivers and services to start Windows plus the drivers necessary to load the network.
      • Command prompt in Safe Mode (Safeboot_Option = Minimal): same as Safe mode, except that Cmd.exe is started in place of Windows Explorer.
      • Booting into VGA mode: This option starts Windows in 640 x 480 mode and using the current video driver (not Vga.sys). The mode is useful when setting the display configuration is incompatible with the monitor.
      • NOTE: Safe Mode and Safe Mode with networking support Vga.sys instruct the pilot in place.
      • Last Known Good Configuration: This option starts Windows by using a previous configuration identified as correct.
      • Active Directory Restore Mode: This mode is valid only for Windows domain controllers. It performs a repair service directory.
      • Debug Mode: This option enables debug mode in Windows. Debugging information can be transmitted via a serial cable to another computer running a debugger. This mode is configured to use COM2.
      • Enter events start in the newspaper: This option allows you to record events when the computer is started with one of the Safe Boot, except the Last Known Good Configuration option. The text of the boot log is saved in the file Ntbtlog.txt located in the% SystemRoot%.

The Microsoft VGA driver is used by default to display at a resolution of 640x480 in 16 colors. You must be logged in all modes, through a field or the Security Accounts Manager local, according to the Safe Boot mode you select.
