Re: which os is suitable

Use either XP/sp2 or Linux(Fedora/Ubuntu) - does a good job.

Re: which os is suitable

You can take windows Xp or 2000, Microsoft Windows grow complicated quickly, because Windows exists in so many different flavors. or you can also go for alternatives like linux. Keep your intended purpose in mind. people require network connectivity for more specialized uses of the operating system, such as transfering files to or from an FTP server, telecommuting via a Virtual Private Network (VPN), or backing up files to Network Attached Storage (NAS).

According to me, i think you should install Windows Xp SP2 on your system. I use both Ubuntu & Windows, although I prefer Ubuntu or Linux in general. If you are using a computer in business, most business packages are Windows based although there are alternatives for Linux, the operation of such software is often different in each Operating System.

You can look for EyeOS, it has the attributes of a real operating system with the key, a kernel, a tree of files and applications, and even a table of processes. However, it has no direct access to the hardware configuration of the machine.
