Strange thing happening in my windows pc, the the "Restore Active Desktop" keeps starting and the option "Show Web Content on my Active desktop" is checked (enabled) in this, but its grayed out. Whats wrong with this?
Strange thing happening in my windows pc, the the "Restore Active Desktop" keeps starting and the option "Show Web Content on my Active desktop" is checked (enabled) in this, but its grayed out. Whats wrong with this?
To remove active desktop do the following:
- Right-click anywhere on the Desktop and click Properties
- In Display Properties change to the Desktop tab, Choose any other image in the list than the one currently selected and then select the original image used as wallpaper and click Ok , You should now see your wallpaper instead of the Restore my Desktop instructions.
The reason is when you turn on Active Desktop (using Group Policy), "Display Properties -> Web Tab -> Show Web content on my Active Desktop -> My Current Home Pade" is checked by default . A user can disable it, but manualy only. There is no option like "Disable Show Web content on my Active Desktop" in Group Policies. But there is an option "User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Desktop -> Disable all items" there. Just disable it and all will be all right.
First i'll suggest you to scan your system with good anti-virus or if you already have one then do a complete scan. Its more sounds like virus issue. And also refer to following threads to get more info about this problem:
