    Windows can not find gpedit.msc

    Hello all

whenever I click on run from the start menu & then type gpedit.msc to run the same thing it brings me the following error message 'Windows can not find gpedit.msc make sure you typed the name correctly & then try again. To search for a file, click the start button & then click search".
so am bit confused where i am suppose to type gpedit.msc instead of putting it in the run area, which we normally get from the start menu.actually i need to run this program for installing a program in the computer.so guys out here give some inputs regarding this issue...

    thanks for any help.

Do this for Windows XP Home and Professional

    > Boot into Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly while start up)
    > get in to the Administrator account
    >Go to C:\Program Files\\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avnotify.exe
    >Right-click avnotify.exe> properties> security> advanced
    >Under the Permissions folder you can see all of the users
    >Edit>Traverse Folder / Execute File>deny> ok do this for all users i the computer
    >Restart the computer in normal way

I believe you are with windows XP Home, and there is no gpedit.msc.in order to figure out what all msc files you have,In Windows SEARCH, under file name type *.msc then click Search.ths will bring you all msc files on your harddrive.

I guess you must have to use the registry to change it back, but I have never done this before, so if there is some help out there I would really appreciate it. Especially if you have a read of my System Optimization Guide and the section on drivers.most of the tweaks are not so much to boost raw speed but to get rid of unnecessary resource-hogging rubbish and make things feel "snappier" and smoother.
