start at boot time must be a Start-> Run and enter the command "msconfig". And of course, go to the Startup tab. Once in there, you can uncheck: GoogleTollBarNotifier, ITunesHelper , ipodservice, process of hp.

    Now check Task Manager process.

Go to the services tab in the Task Manager and then open up the services (services button at the bottom). Here you can select a service and set its startup options.

To remove the un-necessary services, consult the black vipers webpage and plenty of others to disable the services, which you don't require.

Take care, all at your own risk.

I restart my computer and I see that there is more than 47 processes listed in Task Manager. I have 2G of RAM of which about 28% is used constantly but I am not doing anything on the computer. Is this normal ?

Some software, like Nero or the utilities included with the printer, enter without telling us when you install one or more entries in the list mode. They are loaded at startup and unnecessarily increase the burden on memory. They can be launched without concern manually.

Vista is resource hogger, there is a lot of bloatware. Remove them. See my earlier message above.
