Linux on ps3

Hi all,
I heard about running linux on PS3. Is it safe to run linux on PS3? Anyone tried it? Please share your experience if you did this before. Can i do it by myself? If yes, then how?

Hey, i never did something like that with my PS3. Because i don't want to loose any data and i just love my PS3. But yes, you can do this. I have came across a very nice video on Fedora Linux on PS3. Enjoy!

PS3 can run linus as well as other operating systems. You need to install them on console's hard drive. PlayStation 3's do not include Linux pre-installed. Sony has included an option in the XMB menu to install other operating systems. There is a full wiki article available for Linux on the PlayStation 3.

You can install linux on PS3. You need to download some components like PS3 Linux Addon CD, OtherOS Installer, etc. There is a requirement of USB keyboard and a mouse to use Linux on your PS3. YOu can install Fedora Core 5 on your PS3. There are full installation instructions available on PS3 site.
