This problem can occur when a program that has an associated MMC snap-in, is removed and leaves an orphaned entry in the registry. To resolve this problem: Ignore the message in the Symptoms section and
    1. click OK to start MMC.
    2. Click Console.
    3. Click Add\Remove Snap-in.
    4. Click the orphaned snap-in. (The snap-in should not have an icon.)
    5. Click Remove.
    6. Click OK to close the Add\Remove snap-in window.
    7. Save your changes to the console.

If the snap-in loads correctly, and You Are Still Having proble, then the .msc file that you were using to open the snap-in may have become corrupted. Save the console file that you created in the previous steps, and then use this new console file to open the snap-in.

    1. To do this, follow these steps: On the Console menu, click Save As.
    2. Type a name for your new console file, and then press ENTER.

If the snap-in does not load, review the product documentation for the program that uses the snap-in that you are having problems with.

Re: Microsoft Management console has Stopped Working

The file for this process is normally located in the directory "% SystemRoot% \System32\mmc.exe" (% SystemRoot% is usually C:\WINDOWS by default).

The mmc is not a live virus, a worm, a Trojan horse, a spyware, nor an AdWare. It is a system process can be stopped. You can locate in the Following path and try to run it also try performing a clean boot

To perform a clean boot, please do as follows:

    1. Click Start->Run...->type msconfig and press Enter
    2. Click Services tab and select Hide All Microsoft Services and Disable All third party Services.
    3. Click Startup tab and Disable All startup items
    4. Click OK and choose Restart
