Directory trees in Windows Explorer

Hi Folks,
when I open my Windows Explorer my directory tree defaults to
Desktop|Shadow|Documents|Public|Computer
With all directories expanded with Desktop and Public. I want the directory to collapse all above computer Since I have all my files on my D drive.but i see open it only to see this
Desktop |Shadow|Public|Computer|Network|Control Panel Recycle Bin with all directories collapsed. It is most dumping thing to navigate the tree every time I open Explorer just to get to a file on the D drive.so guys please let me know the switch to utilize and in which way I can set it in Vista Home Premium?

thanks for any help !!

Re: Directory trees in Windows Explorer

This following code will create a shortcut to C with the Folders Pane showing and C expanded.

Right click the Desktop | New | Shortcut |
%windir%\EXPLORER.EXE /e,c:
you can finish it by clicking next else target the Target of your existing shortcut to
%windir%\EXPLORER.EXE /e,c:
Or create a shortcut to explorer.exe with this as the
Target: %windir%\explorer.scf

Re: Directory trees in Windows Explorer

I used a JSplitPanel to get the left side pane for the Directory Tree and the right side Pane for the Files.I had issues in listing the System Directory Hierarchy in a Tree structure. I lsearched at the Source code for JFileChooser and later used JFileSystemView’s getroots() method and for the Events TreeSelectionListener
