Permanently Remove Icon From Taskbar

Hello everyone,

I would like know how to remove icons for programs in the task bar beside the clock icon and the sound. Could you help me by telling me the way , to do this , Actaully i wanted to remove some unwanted Icons in taskbar , please Help me Thanks in advance

Right-click on the "Start" menu, then click "Properties", then click on "Taskbar". Click on "Customize." In the window that opens (and in front of icons), click on the icon you want to hide, then click on "Always hide". Click "OK" and then "Apply" and "OK".

I Can See two solutions for this problem . You can go through the task manager to stop the unnecessary process or through msconfig to disable unwanted programs at startup (Start-> Run-> msconfig-> Startup tab).

To clear the list of previous notification of the taskbar, follow these steps:

Remove IconStreams and PastIconsStream values from the the following registry path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ TrayNotify

Open Task Manager, click the Processes tab on Explorer.exe,
then click End Process. In Task Manager, click Application, click New Task, type explorer, then click OK.

For Vista this is key to be accessed in registry editor
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify
