How to hide RUN command from Start menu

I am running Windows XP on my Dell laptop. I don't want to allow anyone to run any programs in my absence. And not even can use any applications which I have installed or I have made hidden. Is this possible? Can I hide run command from Start menu? I know this is the last way how others can try to run pther applications.

Re: How to hide RUN command from Start menu

To remove the Run command from Start Menu, simply follow the below steps:
  1. Open Registry Editor (Press [Windows] + R, type "regedit" and press Enter).
  2. Search below registry entry:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
  3. Create a new registry key by right-clicking on the empty place and selecting "New"
  4. Name it as "NoRun"
  5. Change the "REG_DWORD" value to "1"

Below is the simple and effective to do what you want:

Right click on Start and select Properties. Go to "Start Menu" tab. Select Customize. Under "Advanced Start Menu Option", uncheck on "Display Run". Click OK and then again OK to save the changes.

Re: How to hide RUN command from Start menu

Are you sure that they hiding the Run command is the safest way to stop others to do things on your computer? Well its not like that my friend. You can even run applications via TASK MANAGER (CTRL + ALT + DEL). So if you want to protect your computer then password protect your computer and/or create a new user account for others to operate your computer and give a limited accounts rights.
