    Re: SQLServr.exe Memory Usage

When you start SQL Server, SQL Server memory usage may continue to steadily increase and not decrease, even when activity on the server is low. Additionally, the Task Manager and Performance Monitor may show that the physical memory available on the computer is steadily decreasing until the available memory is between 4 to 10 MB.

    Re: SQLServr.exe Memory Usage

There is a way to limit how much memory sql server can use in a given machine. However, sqlservr.exe does not seem to relinquish memory properly. A database system will allways use the memory it needs, but with also
release it, however the OS will reclaim memory when needed.SQL will allocate as much memory as you define in the Max Memory property.
