    Hi Coldman,

In our office, we use normally use Backup Exec to perform backups of all of our servers. Since we have only one Backup Exec server, I had need to restore a system that the Backup Exec server can see. However, I can't test restoring a system into the same network where the production system is running.

You'll need to access the Automated System Restore Wizard to workaround this :

    1. Install Backup Utility for Windows on the Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition CD-ROM. Follow these steps to install Backup Utility for Windows:
      • Double-click the Ntbackup.msi file in the following location on the Windows XP Home Edition CD: CD-ROM Drive :\Valueadd\MSFT\Ntbackup
      • When the installation wizard is complete, click Finish
      .
    2. Click Start >> click All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> click Backup on the All Programs menu.

    3. Click the Advanced Mode link on the first screen of the Backup and Restore Wizard.

    4. On the Backup Utility dialog box, click the Automated System Recovery Wizard button.
