windows updates system tray icon missing

I am using Windows XP since 3 years & was never having problem with it...! but from recent days it is giving a problems.... Today it gave me problem with windows XP update system tray icon was missing.... I tried to update & see but still didn't came...... Does anyone know what the problem & how to get it back....????

Hiiii! Adrinna!

It might be there....! The Windows XP has a facility of hiding Icon might be hiding it.... Just see for the arrow on the TaskBar..... To Disable that facility Just right clink on the taskbar & select properties & remove the check "Hide Inactive Icons"

To solve the problem just follow the following steps...!

1. Firstly go to Start onthe taskbar & open Run.
   
   
2. Now type msconfig & press Enter.
   
   
3. Now you will see that System Configuration Utility will open Window
   
   
4. Now in that go to the Start Up tab...
   
   
5. There you can change which items to be displayed at the system tray icon.
   
   
6. After that it will ask you for restart & you should restart the for seeing the chanes taken place....
