windows vista 64 bit media player error

hello , new to this forum

just purchased a new laptop today and when trying to watch a video of mine on media player it says codec needed , and i cannot find where to download one for vista 64 bit, can anyone help me?

its not big error use this codecs Download vista freeware codecs for wmp 11 also for better use download klite codec which has good support for media player.Download new K-Lite Codec Pack Update 20090314

If you have an older version of the Player, its codecs may not be up-to-date. To acquire the latest codecs, just set up the Player to download the codecs automatically by doing the following:

• In the Player, on the Tools tab, click Options.
• On the Player tab, select the Download codecs automatically check box.
