Re: Starting Windows XP setup in Dos

Installing Windows XP from DOS mode is possible, but there are some requirenments. You must have smart disk support on the DOS bootable CD. Check if there is a dos application file named "smartdrv" on the CD. If it exists then you can install the file after you run smartdrv. All the best!

Re: Starting Windows XP setup in Dos

OK! Do the following :
  • Boot from Windows 98 CD
  • From the Options Select 'Boot with CD-ROM Support' and press Enter
  • Now once you are on the A:\> prompt go to the cd-rom drive
  • Go to the folder where smartdrv is located and run it
  • Now go back to A:\> prompt
  • Insert Windows XP Non-Bootable CD and navigate to cd-rom drive and i386 folder
  • Type "winnt.exe" and press Enter
  • Windows XP Setup Will start...
All the best!! For More Details See this Link : Install Windows XP from DOS
