How to change System Properties registered to

Hello, I have Windows XP with Service Pack 3 installed on my computer. If I go to System Properties on my pc then I can see a display of:

    Registered to:
    Dilhara

This information is the default for registering any new software which is installed.

So, can anyone tell me how to change System Properties registered to name? Thank you

If you get the program "WinHacker" it has a place where you can enter your own info... (not to mention some of the other benefits that the program offers) and you don't have as big a risk messing up the registry beyond repair.

    OR

Here is the path to one entry, I am not sure if there might be more listed somewhere.

    Start-Run-type regedit
Click the plus sign on the left of each:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    Software
    Microsoft
    Windows
    CurrentVersion

In the right column look for and click on "Registered Owner"
Click edit then modify and type the name change

Also look for pwl files in Win/Sys that will have the old name, which you can delete.

Just follow the steps to change the Registered To information given below:
Start>Run, key in Regedit and press enter. Now in the Left pane, double left click on each of these til you see the contents of the "Current Version" key in the Right pane.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Then in the Right pane you should see "Registered Owner". Right click on it and select Modify and change it to what you'd like. Click OK
