I would like to know if there was way to automatically hide all icons from my task bar, or if there were means to that "always hide" is the default setting because what I do not see icons in my task bar.

Right-click on the Taskbar go to the property and click the Customize button at the bottom right to change the settings for each app. If you want your icons to show all the time, you can check “Hide inactive icons”.
Check this threads : To hide the icons from desktop and Hide all Icons on the Desktop
Just right click on your task bar on bottom of the screen and click on toolbars and then click on Desktop. This adds a small Desktop item to the task bar. When you click on the all your desktop icons are displayed, including their descriptions. Now, to hide your desktop icons, just right click on your desktop, click on Arrange Icons By, and then click on Show Desktop Icons.
