hi,
I have windows vista and windows 7 running on my pc. I have made image backup of windows 7. Here are the Vista and Windows 7 each partition into separate VHD files. From the Windows 7 VHD file, I can then boot from the Vista VHD file.
At some places on the Internet is claimed that Vista generally cannot directly boot from a VHD file.
At another place it says it is possible if the Vista VHD file is created earlier with the virtualization software "Windows Server 2008 and Hyper-V".
Is there someone already succeeded in booting Vista directly from a VHD file ? Just as with Windows 7 it is possible?
Has anyone experience with this and can confirm that?
(I do not have a Windows Server 2008 and Hyper-V ")
