Windows XP no login screen

I have a computer with windows XP, and there is something wront with the computer. It won't start at all. Windows boot screen will load and then before the windows login screen, Widnows XP stucks, keyboard does not work except the num lock, scroll lock and caps lock keys. also mouse pointer moves but computer won't reach the loging screen... The computer starts Windows XP but no login screen. Help!!

Did you install a new hardware or software? What do you think might be the culprit of this thing. If you know that after a particluar software or due to a particular hardware the problem has occurred, then remove it... Or may be try system restore and restore your computer to an earlies time when it worked perfectly...

I cannot access the computer at all, how do i remove the few applications that i installed and the system stopped starting then. I suspect those were responsible for my computer's screwing up. Any help??

You can try starting the computer in Safe mode. When computer boots, after the bios is exits, keep press F8 key until you get an option to select how to boot, there select safe mode.. This will help... All the best...
