    Windows Explorer startup parameters

    Hi,

I have a problem with my windows explorer. Whenever I run Windows Explorer program, a message comes and the program stops working. I have even checked by restarting the computer many times but the same problem continues .....

Does anyone know how to open the windows explorer with command line ?? what is the startup parameter for Windows Explorer ??

Does anyone have any suggestions on how this might be done?

Command-Line Switches for Windows Explorer :

    EXPLORER.EXE [/n][/e][,/root,<object>][[,/select],]
/n: Opens a new window in single-paned (My Computer) view for each item
selected, even if the new window duplicates a window that is
    already open.

/e: Uses Windows Explorer view. Windows Explorer view is most similar
to File Manager in Windows version 3.x. Note that the default view
    is Open view.

/root,<object>: Specifies the root level of the specified view. The
default is to use the normal namespace root (the
desktop). Whatever is specified is the root for the
    display.

/select,: Specifies the folder to receive the initial
focus. If "/select" is used, the parent folder
is opened and the specified object is selected.

    Re: Windows Explorer startup parameters

Windows Explorer starts in the My Documents folder by default. To configure Windows Explorer start with the %SystemRoot% drive as the default view.

    Configuring Windows Explorer

    1. Click on Start, go to Programs -> Accessories, right-click Windows Explorer, and then click Properties.
    2. Then Click on the Shortcut tab.
    3. Add the following text behind the text in the Target box:
    4. Code:
      /e,/root,
    5. The text in the Target box should then appear as:
    6. Code:
      %systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,/root,
    7. Then Click OK. When you start Windows Explorer, the root drive is the default view.
