Have you tried your mic on other system?
Is your mic. working? Try another mic & see if it works on your computer?
If its working fine then Look at the event viewer.
start, run, eventvwr.msc
Let us know what you get there?
How to Troubleshoot Microphone Issues
To verify this, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type sndvol32.exe, and then click OK.
3. Click Properties on the Options menu.
4. In the Adjust volume for box, click Recording.
5. Click OK.
6. In the Microphone box, verify that the Select check box is selected.
All the properties listed on the Playback section of the Volume control are independent of the recording settings. So you could record through the microphone by selecting it on the recording section, and mute it on the playback section. Then, you could record sound, but wouldn't hear it through the speakers while you are recording.
I hope this helps.
Rundll32.exe is a process which executes DLL's and places their libraries into the memory, Check and ensure that the particular rundll.exe is situated in the System32 folder.
Can you tell us if the program is installed or you have done any special activity that may have forced the microphone stopped working?
1. Open Control Panel.
2. Select Hardware and Sound.
3. Select Sound and then display the Recording tab in the Sound dialog box.
4. Right-click in the window and select the Show Disabled Devices option.
5. Enable Stereo Mix.
6. Click OK and exit.
If you have any sound & video related program installed then go to your system32 directory and search for the file lmpgspl.ax and tell me if it is there.
IF it is there then rename the file to 1lmpgspl.ax and that should do the trick
This must solve the problem.
