Sony DCR-HC36 USB drivers for Vista

I had bought a new Sony Handycam DCR-HC36 2 days back. When i tried to install the drivers from the handycam CD on my Vista Home Premium, i got a error message saying,"software was incompatible with this version of Windows". Why is that so ? Should i need to download some other driver for Vista ? If yes please let me know where can i get those drivers ? Thanks

AS i think, Vista has those drivers needed by Sony DCR, but anyways if try to plugin it in Vista USB, system will try to detect the drivers automatically. If not than you can do alternate way. Try to plug the DCR via firewire instead of usb. I have tried this once when i was having the similar problem. Hope this will solve the problem. Just try it and let me know it works or not.

Actually almost Many drivers are included with Vista itself....its just a case of pointing the driver install to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore. But may be for some reason it just won't work with a usb on Vista.

So the best option is to go the esupport.sony.com. Here you just need to choose your DCR model and operating system. You will find the driver. Just download it and you are done.

I got a Sony DCR-HC36 but i lost the CD that brings the drivers! can anyone tell me where can i find the USB drivers for my camcorder? im using Windows XP
