    Laptop can't show desktop

I am using accer laptop on that desktop icon not visible. I think something else is missing or corrupt. I created a icon on laptop but that is not the correct one because when i try to open it, the windows popup box appears saying "can't open file and which program do I want to use to open it ".

    Any solution ?

go into the folder options under the File Types and look for Windows Explorer Command or Show Desktop and tell me what command is in the open dialog.

When you press SHIFT+F10 to open the context menu for your desktop, a different context menu than the one you want may open. For example, you may open a context menu with the Open, Explore, and Find commands even though you want the context menu with the Active Desktop, Arrange Icons, and Line Up Icons commands.

First check that there are any conflicts, hardware and software. go into the device to disable everything under the startup tab in msconfig to test for software conflicts. If that doesn't work, backup all data and try the system restore.
